Harry And Markle Welcomes Second Child, Baby Lili

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially announced the birth of their second child. The pair welcomed to the world a healthy baby girl named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

The Duchess of Sussex gave birth to Lili on Friday at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. Markle said Lili weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces.

“We were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined. We remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe. Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family,” Markle said on her website.

The couple’s second child is named after her great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who is called “Lilibet” by some of the family’s senior members. Meanwhile, her second name, Diana, is in honor of her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

Other members of the British royal family also expressed their good wishes for the couple. Prince Charles sent his congratulations to the couple. Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, also expressed their delight with the news.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson sent his congratulations via tweet, while Labor leader, Sir Kier Starmer, said the arrival of baby LiLi was “wonderful news.”
