Dr. Dre Still In Intensive Care Following Brain Aneurysm

American rap icon Dr. Dre – whose real name is Andre Romelle Young – is still in intensive care a week after he was rushed to the hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm.

Sources said that the doctors are still trying to find out what caused the aneurysm. People directly connected to the “Still D.R.E.” singer said that he is undergoing a “battery of tests” to get to the root of the problem.

Doctors are reportedly advising Dr. Dre to remain in the ICU in case he suffers another aneurysm. The sources did not confirm if Dr. Dre had to undergo surgery after he was rushed into the hospital. However, surgery is typically required for serious cases in order to stop the internal bleeding.

Sources said that Dr. Dre is currently “resting comfortably” and the worst is now over. Doctors have reportedly told the family that a “bad outcome” is unlikely.

Dr. Dre was rushed to the hospital last week after he collapsed at his Pacific Palisades Home. Considering that an aneurysm typically results in death more than 50% of the time, Dr. Dre is lucky to have survived.

It also has to be noted that around 60% of those that had suffered an aneurysm and survived, end up with some sort of permanent neurological deficit.
