Universal Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth, the next installment in the blockbuster dinosaur franchise. Starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey, the film is set to hit theaters on July 2, 2025.
Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One), Jurassic World Rebirth takes place five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion and introduces a world where only a limited number of dinosaurs remain in controlled biospheres. The plot centers around covert operative Zora Bennett (Johansson), who embarks on a mission to retrieve genetic material from three specific dinosaurs. Her task, however, takes an unexpected turn when she finds herself stranded with a civilian family on an island that harbors long-hidden secrets.
The Jurassic Park franchise, which began with Steven Spielberg’s 1993 adaptation of Michael Crichton’s novel, has become one of Hollywood’s most enduring series. Jurassic World Rebirth continues its legacy, with David Koepp—screenwriter of Jurassic Park and The Lost World—penning the script.
The film boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein. Produced by franchise veterans Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, with Steven Spielberg serving as an executive producer, the film aims to reignite excitement following Jurassic World Dominion, which grossed over $1 billion globally despite mixed reviews.
