A shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin has left three people dead and two more in serious condition. The incident happened on the city’s north side late Tuesday.
At 10:41 p.m., a shooting was reported to police east of Seventh Avenue and west of Kennedy Park. Kenosha News said the shooting occurred inside a house. As of midnight, police verified that the remains of the three persons slain were still inside a home.
Kenosha Fire Department paramedics took one person from the site to a high school, where a medical helicopter then flew the victim to a hospital. Another individual was brought to a hospital for treatment. Kenosha Police Lt. Joe Nosalik said both victims are in critical condition.
Kenosha police said the incident was an isolated one and there was no immediate threat to the community. Police are reportedly not actively looking for any suspects at this time.
The incident was not a police-involved shooting, authorities said on Twitter. At this moment, the ages and identities of the victims are being kept private. A police investigation is still underway. Officials said they will provide additional information when they are available.
The shooting in Kenosha County on Tuesday was the second this year involving multiple fatalities. Three individuals were killed and three others were injured when a shooter opened fire at Somers House Tavern, just north of Kenosha, on April 18. In the shooting, Kenosha resident Rakayo Vinson was charged with three charges of first-degree intentional homicide and three counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
