Photos of male students wearing sexy clothes and giving school staff lap dances at a high school in Kentucky have now prompted an investigation. The photos were uploaded on social media on the Hazard High School Athletics’ Facebook page. Female students dressed up as Hooters girls were also shown in the photos.
The photos have since been taken down. Before they were deleted, some social media users were able to take screenshots of the photos. Principal Donald Mobelini, who is also the city’s mayor, is said to be among those in the pictures.
The school claims that the photos taken were part of a “man pageant” during its homecoming celebration. The event was scheduled on the high school’s Facebook page and took place on Tuesday.
School Superintendent Sondra Combs is reportedly looking into what happened. She also expressed regret and stated that “disciplinary action” will be taken once the investigation is completed.
The male students in the pictures wore women’s lingerie and gave staff members lap dances in the gymnasium. Meanwhile, girls were seen in the photos wearing Hooters outfits.
The Kentucky Department of Education is said it was already made aware of the incident at the high school. Under state law, school district superintendents are required to report instances of educator misconduct to the Education Professional Standards Board.
If the investigation finds that school staff members had violated the Kentucky Educator Code of Ethics, the superintendent is required to report this to the EPSB for potential action.
Aster Sizemore, a board member for Hazard Independent Schools, said he was at the high school Tuesday but did not attend that event. Sizemore said it was unlike Mobelini as he was known to be a strict person at the school.
